I made this game for the official Brackeys Game Jam 2025.1 with the theme:
"Nothing can go wrong"

Instructions:

Click on the "Record" button to begin creating a new song. Hover the Melody Boxes in order to hear the melody contained. When you are sure which one you want, select it with left click. Add 3 melodies together to create 1 song. Create 5 Songs to unlock the end of the game.

Popularity: This determines how many copies of your song you will make.

Style: This determines how much you can sell your song for.

Fanbase Metrics:

The Purple box and Orange box are directly related to what the fans want. Purple represents style, while orange represents popularity. Try to match your current bars with the what the fans want, go too far over or under, and they'll cost you profits!

How it plays into the theme:

My game fits the theme of "Nothing can go wrong" in a few different ways. The first is all the songs have been sampled and curated in a way where all the tempos, key signatures, and genres are synced up. Therefore, no matter what combination of songs the player mixes together, they can never sound wrong, hence "Nothing can go wrong". Another reason is the accuracy of the game. If the player can match their song metrics closely to the those of the fanbase, the game rewards them greatly; while severely punishing them for overproducing and underproducing; once again playing into the theme of "Nothing can go wrong". Finally, there is the ending of the game. The game gives the player specific minimums for sales and revenue. If the player does meet the requirements on both variables, they lose the game outright, playing into theme of "Nothing can go wrong" one last time.

I came back, I just love this game so much. I keep going back to itch to pull it up it's so fun!!! This whole time I thought you were supposed to try to match the song stats to the fanbase metrics...

Thank you so much! I made it for game jam; I'm always trying to participate in more!
